I hope you enjoy looking through my portfolio. It is always a work in progress. Over the years my specialty has become paper props and hand props. I enjoy working with foam, paints and building small to medium sized props.
Ever since I was little, my mom and I would do arts and crafts together. In school my favorite subject was always Art and for the longest time I wanted to grow up to be an "artist". I got involved in theater in middle school doing backstage work. I remember tossing bananas onstage to my friend playing Baloo in the production of The Jungle Book. In high school I was involved in front of house work during our once a year musical, but occasionally helped base paint the set. My senior year got more involved and propped my first show! I didn't think theater would be a career choice for me until I ended up deciding that I wanted to go to college for theater. I was again involved but my school had no concentrations within the program and towards the end of my time there, after having dabbled in props, I realized that I really liked props a lot! Ever since then I have been lucky enough to work with great people at good companies and learn more from my co-workers everyday.
There is no other department that gets to do the variety of things that comes with props work. Every show is a different, new and exciting adventure in exploration. I believe I'll enjoy working with props for a very long time. I'm not sure there is anything else I like doing more.
